Ever since our trip to Rome we knew what
we were going to give to Noelle for her 16th birthday:
We brought the beautiful purse from
their local flagship store for her.
The purse was my inspiration for the
matching dessert table – which was waiting for her, when she came home from her
surfing vacation.
We love Moschino!
How to:
1. Purse-shaped cookies:
Unfortunately
any cookie cutters in the shape of bags available in retail stores were much
too delicate: the dough stuck to them, the handles didn’t turn out right, the
result resembled more a road-kill squirrel than a purse.
I gave up
after a few frustrating trials, drew a purse on a piece of stiff cardboard, cut
it out and used it as a template for the dough – it worked wonderfully,
considering also that I did not even need to cut out that many purses.
2. The big cookies are very well suited for lettering, which is
why they were first decorated with fondant icing and then framed with sugar
icing.
It’s dead
easy to add the lettering, I always use these stamps for the task.
3. I created the mood board using the current collection’s
catalogs – you can get them for free in any store.
4. Because Noelle loves chocolate she got
chocolate cupcakes and a chocolate cake with raspberry filling.
